Position: Regional Educator/Technical Services Representative
FLSA Status: Exempt
With strong public speaking skills and comfort conveying knowledge and information to diverse groups of people, Regional Educators serve as liaisons between Counter Culture, our customers, and the public. Both our wholesale and consumer partners can learn cutting edge coffee and service skills through our education programs which are professionally executed by our Regional Educators. In addition to teaching courses, Regional Educators contribute content to courses and events as well as follow up with relevant trainings for baristas who desire to progress as coffee professionals This seat should approach and extend educational opportunities within the strategy for regional growth, retention, and profitability.
As a member of the Customer Support department, the key function of this role is to act as a Counter Culture regional support representative, providing technical services, customer support, and course instruction. Coffee Technicians are primarily responsible for installation and upkeep of customers’ coffee equipment. Although a familiarity or comfort with tools and equipment is a required skill set, advanced coffee skills and industry knowledge are also key in this role. Coffee Techs are also expected to assist in the implementation of our Counter Intelligence program regionally by acting as lab instructors or assistants based on the specific region’s needs and capacity. A Counter Culture Coffee Technician is a resourceful, pragmatic, and thorough service person, as well as a knowledgeable and crafted barista.
Job Duties (60% of time):
30%: Scheduling and teaching our Professional Development program
10%: Scheduling and teaching our Home Brew program, including public coffee tastings.
5%: Responsible for supporting regional growth, retention, and profitability.
5%: Developing and executing strategies with regional teams to achieve goals.
5%: Helping maintain all assets, including cleaning and care of all coffee equipment, training center facilities, and vehicles.
5%: Contributing content to our education programs and events

Must have a valid and current driver’s license issued within the United States and be able to drive a company vehicle

Able to work well with a regional sales and support team to achieve growth and retention goals.
Five years barista experience in the specialty coffee industry, store management experience preferred.
Loves coffee and loves talking about all aspects of it.
Travel, sometimes overnight. Work hours may be outside of normal business hours including some weekends, or holidays.
Congenial, professional, helpful, and thoughtful in any situation.
Must be able to lead large groups in discussions or training regarding nearly anything coffee related.
Comfortable using various forms of technology and programs for account management.
