Coffee Shop Manager - Full Time

A 2nd Cup is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the role of Coffee Shop Manager.

THE ROLE:

The Coffee Shop Manager is responsible for leading the A 2nd Cup team in the efficient and profitable operation of A 2nd Cup, and educating and empowering our guests to engage in the fight against human trafficking in Houston. As the Coffee Shop Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our customers receive the highest quality coffee and food and the friendliest and most efficient service. You will also be expected to continually develop and train yourself in restaurant management and operations, and personnel management to continually improve the profitability, staff retention, and highest quality standards possible.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Models outstanding service, takes ownership of the quality of service experienced by customers, continually evaluates the performance of cafe and resolves customer problems in a timely manner.

  • Coordinates training, coaches and encourages team members.

  • Ensures adequate staffing and schedules staff in an efficient manner.

  • Works with the Operations Director to increase sales and control cost of goods, inventory levels, labor, supplies and expenses.

  • Places, receives, and verifies orders; conducts inventory, and controls waste.

  • Maintains high cleanliness standards and ensures that all areas of the shop and all equipment are maintained in a safe and working manner.

  • Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards, operational inconsistencies and any team member or customer incidents.

  • Is well-trained and continues to develop coffee brewing techniques at the highest level.

  • Works with staff to ensure that all drink and food recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistency standards.

  • Ensures that all team members are educated on our products and services, by developing an understanding of our merchandise, food items, coffee, tea products, blends and roasts, as well as coffee and tea regions and ethical sourcing methods of our products.

  • Provides ongoing training and development to all team members.

  • Educates oneself on human trafficking and communicates our mission to our customers.
