Lift and Learn - an Urnex x HtxCoffeeCollective x Counter Culture Event

Lift and Learn was organized by the Urnex Brand, Houston Coffee Collective, and Counter Culture Coffee with the goal and intention to share knowledge between baristas and technicians.

It was a great evening with a huge turn-out of more than 55 participating coffee professionals and more than 70 in total gathered in Geva for an evening of learning and sharing. The participants were divided into 4 groups, rotating between two modules under the category of their choice. Modules included: 1/ Espresso machine mechanism and steam wand rebuild by Allen Leibowitz (Pit Crew Coffee Service), 2/ Grinder maintenance by Braedan Weller (Gypsy Joynt). On the sensory side we had 1/ Sensory table by Kathy Altermirano (Counter Culture Coffee), and 2/ Espresso fundamentals by Antoine Franklin (Blacksmith)

This was a free event with food sponsored by Urnex Brands and Counter Culture, while Karbach beer and Topo Chico were sponsored by Slow Pour Supply.
